What's new on SHOWBLiZ

Every couple of weeks we ship improvements to how you find and follow live arts in Miami. Here is the running log.

This update is all about giving you more control and making everything look and feel better.

Added

  • Add shows and venues yourself. See something missing? A new “+ Add” spot lets you suggest a show, venue, or company. You can even start filling out the form before you sign in — we’ll save your work and bring it back after you log in.
  • Suggest a full show, poster and all. When you add a credit to your profile, you can now include the show’s dates, director, language, and even upload a poster. Your suggestions show up with a “Pending review” note until our team takes a look.
  • A “from the producer” badge. Some show pages now carry a small trust mark when the listing comes straight from the people producing the show.

Updated

  • Your artist profile, all in one place. We rebuilt the profile editor into a single, simple form. Sections stay open, every field saves as you type, and there’s one quiet status line so you always know your work is safe. Your public page now shows reels, certifications, personal details, and your stage name.
  • You can edit external credits. Credits you added yourself are now editable in place — not just removable.
  • Sharper photos everywhere. Cards switched to a cleaner 16:9 layout with a tidier rounded corner.
  • Nicer sign-in. There’s now just one sign-in page. Continue with Google, get a magic link by email, or use a password — whatever you prefer.

Fixed

  • Shows appear right away. When our team approves a show, it now goes live immediately instead of waiting for the next nightly update.
  • Missing posters are back. Several venue and company pages that were showing blank spots now have their real posters again.
  • Venue and company pages show more. Upcoming and running shows now appear on venue pages, and touring shows no longer show up as a bunch of duplicate cards on a company page.
  • Correct dates. A show opening on August 8 no longer shows up as August 7.
  • Cleaner descriptions. We stopped stray placeholder text from ever landing in a show’s description.
  • Reliable emails and sign-in. We fixed a few behind-the-scenes issues so sign-in and your emails work smoothly.

Added

Suggest a show, venue, or company. See something missing? You can now add it yourself. Start filling out the form even before you sign in — we save your progress. Once you submit, we review it and publish it live. Suggested shows can include a poster, dates, playwright, and more.

Richer artist profiles. Your public profile now shows more of the real you: reels, certifications, teaching history, pronouns, and personal details. If you’re the owner, you’ll also see a private preview of your agent and manager info that stays hidden from the public.

“From the producer” badge. Shows added by their verified producing company now carry a small trust mark so you know the info comes straight from the source.

Fixed

Dates you can trust. We fixed a bug that displayed some shows one day early — an August 8 show could read “August 7.” Every date now shows the correct day.

Photos load reliably. More shows now have posters, and images that used to occasionally go missing during busy times now load dependably. We also recovered posters for a batch of shows that were showing blank.

Sign-in issues cleared up. We fixed a problem that could block sign-in, and made sign-in messages clearer and friendlier.

Fresh, up-to-date listings. We fixed the behind-the-scenes updates that had gone quiet, so listings from several theaters are current again — including showtimes that had stopped refreshing.

Updated

A cleaner look everywhere. Cards across the site now use a wider, more cinematic image and a slightly tighter shape.

Faster, smoother pages. Signed-in pages load noticeably quicker, and a slim progress bar appears the moment you click so you always know something’s happening.

Better browsing. New Theater, Music, Dance, Classes, Stand-up, and Magic filters make it easier to find exactly the kind of night you’re after. Touring shows now group their stops together, and the homepage opens on Theater by default.

A friendlier sign-in page. One simple page handles signing in and joining, with a magic-link-first flow and quieter password option. Emails now match the language you use the site in.

Added

Feeds in Spanish. We added Spanish versions of our four show feeds — tonight, this weekend, opening this week, and closing soon. Now the titles, dates, venues, and prices all read in Spanish. Drop them into your favorite tool to auto-post or just keep an eye on what’s playing.

Fixed

Sign-in works again. We fixed an outage that was blocking everyone from logging in. Sorry about that — you’re back in.

The right date, every time. Some shows were showing their date one day early. That’s fixed — an Aug 8 show now says Aug 8.

Spanish shows read in Spanish. One of our Spanish theater feeds was quietly showing English titles. It now reads Spanish, like it should.

Updated

Browsing that flows. Discovery pages now scroll in smooth, Netflix-style rows, while browse-all pages lay out in clean grids. On desktop, hover to reveal arrows for easy scrolling; on mobile, just swipe.

Wider card images. Show and venue cards now use wider 16:9 images with a slightly tighter, more modern look.

A tidier homepage. The homepage now opens on Theater by default and keeps things simple with Tonight and This weekend up front.

Faster signed-in pages. Pages load noticeably quicker when you’re logged in, and a slim progress bar shows up the instant you click — so you always know something’s on the way.

Added

Suggest a show, venue, or company. There’s a new Add section where you can submit shows, venues, and companies. You can start filling it out even before you sign in — your draft is saved as you type, so you won’t lose your work.

Weekly picks as RSS feeds. We added four feeds — tonight, this weekend, opening soon, and closing soon. Drop them into your favorite reader or an auto-posting tool to keep up with what’s happening.

A progress bar while you browse. When you’re signed in and click around, a slim bar shows up at the top so you know your click registered while the next page loads.

Fixed

Show dates are correct now. A tricky bug could nudge a date one day earlier — an August 8 show would read “Aug 7.” That’s fixed everywhere: on cards, show pages, search, and profiles.

Cleaner descriptions. Sometimes odd filler text slipped into show descriptions. We now catch that automatically and cleaned up the listings that already had it.

Sign-in emails and the sign-in flow work smoothly. We smoothed out a few rough edges so links from your phone open fine on your laptop, and welcome emails go out reliably.

Updated

Faster pages when you’re signed in. Pages you view while logged in now load noticeably quicker.

A tidier homepage. The homepage now starts on Theater by default and keeps Tonight and This weekend front and center. You can still switch to all types anytime.

“From the producer” badge. When a show is added by the people actually behind it, you’ll see a small trust mark so you know the info comes straight from the source.

Bigger, easier tap targets. We made buttons and filter chips easier to tap on your phone.

Added

  • Posters for more shows. Some venues didn’t hand over their artwork easily, and a chunk of shows were stuck with no poster. We hunted those down, so more listings now show real artwork instead of a blank card.
  • Photos in your weekly email. Your weekly favorites email now puts a thumbnail next to each show, so you can recognize what you’re looking for at a glance.
  • A friendlier sign-in. One simple sign-in page now: continue with Google, get a one-tap magic link by email, or use a password. Pick whatever feels easiest.
  • Auto-posting feeds. You can now subscribe to feeds for what’s on today, this weekend, opening soon, and closing soon — handy if you like to wire SHOWBLiZ into your own social tools.

Fixed

  • Fewer duplicate listings. Confirmed duplicates now actually merge, and we drained a backlog of them. You’ll see one real show — the one with the poster — instead of two near-identical entries. We also stopped duplicates from quietly creeping back in.
  • Spanish shares look Spanish. When you share a Spanish page on WhatsApp or social, the preview title and description now show up in Spanish, not English.

Updated

  • A cleaner look for cards. Show and venue cards now use a wider landscape image and a slightly tighter corner — small change, nicer feel.
  • Default share card. Shows without a poster now share with a clean SHOWBLiZ card instead of nothing.
